Spiritual Growth

Students, in relationships of trust, love and prayer, develop a personal and active faith in God.Goal 1, Goals and Criteria of Sacred Heart Education

Rooted in the tradition of Sacred Heart education, the Academy of the Sacred Heart welcomes students of all faiths to grow spiritually while honoring their individual journeys. In addition to the religious instruction offered at every level (detailed in the “Our Schools” section), students are invited into daily practices of prayer, reflection, and community.
Sacred spaces across campus encourage moments of quiet reflection, while all-school liturgies, prayer services, and daily espacio—a time set aside for silence—help weave prayer into the rhythm of the day. Sacramental preparation is central in Grade 2 (Solemn Eucharist) and Grade 4 (Reconciliation), and class retreats, both on- and off-campus, deepen students’ faith and strengthen community bonds.
The Education to Mission team helps guide our community in the areas of liturgy, worship, prayer and education in the spirit and mission of the Society of the Sacred Heart. Each year they focus on one of the five Sacred Heart Goals, planning programs and resources around that theme for major feasts and Church seasons. Students take an active role in these celebrations—singing or playing music, serving at the altar, reading intentions, and leading prayer.
