They may learn the history, rules and skills necessary in order to be successful. Some of the sports and activities the students will learn and participate in will include, but are not limited to, Badminton, Pickle Ball, Volleyball, Ultimate Frisbee, Flag Football, Tennis, and Basketball. The students will also review the benefits of fitness and ways to incorporate it into their daily lives, including the use of the cardio room.

Classroom Expectations:

  • Students are expected to be in class 5 minutes after the scheduled start time. They will also be given 10 minutes at the end of class to change back out of their P.E. uniforms and back into their school uniforms. If students would like to shower at the end of class they must bring their own towel to use.
  • Students will be issued a locker and lock that they are encouraged to use to keep their belongings safe and ensure things are not stolen. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure all of your belongings are put in your locker during class and after class and locked. There will be athletic teams and other schools using our locker rooms at times.
  • If a student cannot participate in class due to an injury, a note is needed from a parent. A parent note can be used for up to 3 consecutive days. After that a doctor note is required. If a student is injured and cannot participate in class, the student will not be permitted to participate in after school athletics!
  • Students are required to wear the physical education uniform and proper athletic shoes when participating in physical education class. Students may be going outdoors in the spring and fall and need to dress appropriately. Sweatshirts and sweatpants may be worn over uniforms if necessary when going outdoors. Please be sure to plan accordingly. Students are responsible for taking their uniforms home to wash when necessary and bringing them back for their next scheduled class.

Students will be graded and evaluated based on daily participation, effort and attitude. Another part of the student’s grade may be comprised of other additional written assignments or projects and quizzes/tests that may be given.
