Probability, Statistics and Trigonometry

Probability, Statistics and Trigonometry is designed as a college preparatory mathematics course. The course will be broken into two portions. In the third quarter students will explore topics in discrete mathematics. Students will be introduced to the key concepts and the basic calculations required in the fields of statistics and probability. Topics included will be the collection and presentation of data; the analysis of data including mean, median, mode and standard deviation; distributions; and probability theory using combinatorics. During the fourth quarter students will focus on trigonometry including a review of geometry and right triangle trigonometry; the circular definition of trigonometric functions; trigonometric identities; and uses of trigonometric functions to model real world scenarios.
