Welcome Home

Greetings Alumnae and Alumni!

Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! This year we join with the entire school community in reinforcing Goal V, “Personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom” by emphasizing this Goal in all our events and fostering an enriched connection with the Network of Sacred Heart Schools and Alumnae and Alumni Associations. All Sacred Heart alumnae and alumni in the Central Region are invited to join their Sacred Heart friends and Religious of the Sacred Heart in Bloomfield Hills and Grosse Pointe for a two-day conference, The Heart’s Roots, November 11 – 12, 2016. As our school, along with Grosse Pointe Academy, is hosting the Central Regional Conference, we look forward to your involvement and participation in this conference by sharing knowledge and nurturing relationships within our wider Sacred Heart community.

The 16th annual Community in Action Day will take place in the fall. On Saturday, October 1, you can participate in a variety of volunteer opportunities, including the DTE Garden Site, Forgotten Harvest, and the Hazel Park Animal Shelter, as well as two on-campus service opportunities. Read more about the service experiences here, and then register here by Monday, September 19

You can also reconnect with the school during our festive holiday traditions, including:

  • The Alumnae and Parents of Graduates Benefit Gift Gathering on Tuesday, October 18
  • A mother-and-alumnae shopping event at Leon and Lulu in Clawson on Monday, November 21
  • Advent by Candlelight on Wednesday, December 7
  • The Alumnae and Alumni Christmas Eve mass on Saturday, December 24
  • The Benefit Main Event on Friday, February 10.

Finally, I’d like to remind you to donate to Annual Giving. Alumnae and Alumni participation is crucial this year as we seek grants and continue funding projects and activities that made our own Sacred Heart experience so unique. You may donate to Annual Giving through the mail or by clicking here

Best wishes for a happy, healthy start to the 2016-2017 school year,

Erin Reynolds Skorupski'97
President of the Alumnae and Alumni Association
