Katie Fabian '16 is Regional All-Around Gymnastics Champion

After placing first in All-Around and Balance Beam, second in Vault and Floor, and third in Uneven Bars at the MHSAA's gymnastics regionals, Katharine Fabian was named the Division I All-Around Gymnastics Champion for Region 4. Coach Allyson Pfeifer said Katie "is the greatest comeback story in my experience ... At last year's championship meet, I had to carry her off the floor with a broken ankle ... She and I had a plan from the season's start and with all her hard work, it actually paid off."

 

Meritor Grant Funds 11 Robots for Upper School

Meritor, Inc. presented a $10,000 grant to ASH to enhance the robotics curriculum. Last year, ASH introduced a robotics requirement for all ninth-graders, providing students with an early exposure to engineering and programming. Initially, an average of four students worked on a single robot. Using the grant from Meritor, the school purchased 11 VEX robotic kits, improving the student-to-robot ratio to 2:1. Read more

Kindergarten Kick-Off is March 4

On March 4, the Primary School will host a Kindergarten Kick-Off from 8-9:30 a.m. Parents of a child who will be 5 years old before September 1 are invited to attend. Guests will tour the school, hear about the Kindergarten program from the teachers, interact with students and observe a math lesson. Read press release
Middle School for Girls Hosts Third Annual Science Day

On February 26, the Middle School for Girls held its third annual Science Day from 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. The event featured hands-on student activities, including a visit from The Robot Garage of Birmingham, activities with Science with the Engineers, Inc. and a presentation by Michigan State University’s Science Theatre. Judith Hehs Joins MHSTeCA Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Associate Head of School Judith Hehs, who was inducted as a member of the Michigan High School Tennis Coaches' Hall of Fame on Friday, January 30. She joins a distinguished group of coaches honored on the MHSTeCA Hall of Fame at the Genesis Athletic Club in Grand Blanc.
