Second Grade Teacher

The Academy of the Sacred Heart has an opening for an experienced, certified second grade teacher with strong background in language arts and mathematics. Preference will be given to candidates who have a background in the education of gifted students. The successful candidate must complete the archdiocesan-mandated course, “Protecting God’s Children,” within one month of hire.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM AIDES

The Academy of the Sacred Heart has openings for aides to work with children from birth to age 3 in its Early Childhood Program. The successful candidates must complete a three-hour, archdiocesan-mandated course, Protecting God’s Children, within one month of being hired. 

Preference is given to applicants who have educational background and experience in the field.

Upper School English Teacher - long-term substitute

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is seeking an experienced, certified Upper School English teacher to fill a maternity leave during the first quarter of the year (August-November 2015.) The Upper School is on a 4X4 block using a one-to-one mobile technology program. The successful candidate must complete “Protecting God’s Children,” an archdiocesan-mandated program, within a month of being hired.

PART-TIME PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is beginning a search for a certified, part-time, physical education teacher to serve in its Primary and Lower School for the 2015-16 school year. Preference will be given to those candidates who also wish to coach in our middle and upper school athletic program.

All teachers at The Academy of the Sacred Heart must complete Protecting God’s Children, an archdiocesan-mandated course, within one month of hire.

EXTENDED DAY POSITIONS

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is seeking individuals to staff the school's Extended Day program, which runs from 2:30-6 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 12:30-6 p.m. on Wednesdays. The successful applicant should have experience and education in working with children, and must complete an Archdiocese of Detroit course called "Protecting God's Children" within one month of hire. The Academy of the Sacred Heart is seeking a certified, part-time mathematics teacher for Kensington Hall, its middle school for boys, grades 5-8, for the 2015-16 school year. The successful candidate must be mission-driven and enjoy working with adolescent boys. Mathematics offerings range from grade-level classes through geometry and Algebra ll.

day camp staff

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is seeking individuals to staff the school's Summer at Sacred Heart Day Camp program, which runs from June 8 - August 14, 2015. Staff are expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and attend the weekly staff meeting on Mondays. With a co-worker, staff will plan and implement entertaining and engaging activities based on the weekly theme. The successful applicant must complete an Archdiocese of Detroit course called "Protecting God's Children" within one month of hire.
