Admission to the Academy of the Sacred Heart is granted on the basis of the following:
A completed application form, with an application fee, will be accepted after September 1, 2015 for the 2016-2017 school year. (The application form can be completed online or on paper.) Parents of Early Childhood Program applicants must attend a “School Tour” before submitting an application. Parents of Primary School applicants may choose a "School Tour" or attend Open House before submitting an application. A release of records form, signed by a parent or guardian, must be included with the application for Grades 2 - 12. Applications received after May 2, 2016 will be processed on an individual basis if enrollment space is available.
Application Fee: $50*
*In lieu of the application fee, applicants for Grade 9 are required to take the High School Placement Exam. For more information on starting the high school acceptance process, please click here.
- Grades 3 - 12*
Entrance testing is scheduled twice annually and then on an individual basis as needed. This year's testing dates are Saturday, January 30, 2016 and Saturday, April 16, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- *Grade 9 – The Archdiocesan High School Placement Test will be offered at the Academy of the Sacred Heart on Saturday, November 21, 2015 and Saturday, December 5, 2015 and is accepted as an entrance examination. Pre-registration at detroit.stsusers.com is required.
Transcripts and Recommendations
- Early Childhood Program - Grade 1
No transcript required. If any records or testing results are available, please provide them to the Admissions office.
- Grades 2 - 12
A transcript that includes official grades and standardized testing results is required from applicant’s present school. Teacher recommendations are requested at this time.
An Admissions Committee will review each applicant’s file and will notify applicants by letter of their decision. Students qualifying for a grade in which there are no spaces remaining may be offered a Wait Pool decision.
