Thank you for your support of Academy of the Sacred Heart. We appreciate you.
With courage and confidence (and a lot of hard work) we have eagerly opened the new year and are ready for anything, because at Sacred Heart, learning can’t wait. We exceeded our enrollment projection in this year of a pandemic, welcoming our youngest babies to our Upper School seniors, and all the Children of the Sacred Heart in between.
Your support at this time is especially critical as we are investing significant resources to protect against the COVID-19 virus and provide a safe, secure and exceptional educational environment.
Annual Giving takes Sacred Heart beyond what tuition dollars cover. Excellence, growth and community are possible when we all come together in support of Academy of the Sacred Heart. With the retirement of the $7.7 million long-term debt last year, every dollar you invest in Sacred Heart will impact the current and future educational experience of all of our students.
This year, Annual Giving dollars will be concentrated on the following areas:
- Excellent Curriculum and Technology: We have expanded our professional development for all of our Sacred Heart educators through a partnership with Oakland University focused on High Leverage Teaching Practices. Additionally, we are bringing new cutting-edge and research-driven curriculum such as Big Ideas Math and The Reading League, to our Sacred Heart learners. We are providing the most up-to-date technology and infrastructure in the classroom.
- Wellness: The physical health and social-emotional wellness of every student remain our highest priorities. We are implementing the strictest cleaning protocols and practices to ensure safety in these unprecedented times. We have expanded our services to include a full-time counselor who will address the social-emotional health of our students and provide professional services that are critical to student growth and success.
- Expanded access: This year all Sacred Heart schools will focus on Goal IV: The Building of Community as a Christian Value. This is part of our mission - to build community in all that we do. Many current families have required emergency tuition assistance during the pandemic, and continuing each child’s Sacred Heart education throughout the crisis is a priority. Further, we know that our community is enriched by diversity in all forms. By funding additional scholarships, we have and will continue to attract new families to our school.
"Courage and confidence! I cannot repeat this war-cry too often. We should make it our support in our life of conflict." Saint Madeleine Sophie Barat
We have opened in person with this in mind and knowing that learning can't wait for us. We ask that you support this courage and confidence with a financial gift to ensure the financial assets we need to be successful.
