A Message from Your Alum Office

Dear Alumnae, Alumni and Parents of Alums,

I wanted to reach out to you from your Sacred Heart Alum Office to let you know we are here for you through these challenging times and doing all we can to live Goal IV: The building of community as a Christian value. As members of the Sacred Heart family, we are blessed with strong bonds, and we are taking steps to ensure we care for each other through this time.

As an alumna myself, and also a parent of an alum and of a current ASH student, I rely on our community for support, friendship and guidance. We want to continue to provide that for all in the coming weeks.

For our students, school is taking place in new and adventurous ways. As leaders in the field of IT use in education, we were ready to tackle remote learning thanks to our 1:1 technology to student ratio and expertise in tech tools such as Google Classroom, OneNote, and more. We are maintaining as much normalcy as possible for all of our learners. With Zoom virtual classrooms, we are keeping up with discussions and presentations, and stimulating minds. Our students are maintaining daily school schedules from home, providing the comfort and familiarity of structure that we all benefit from in times of uncertainty. To see our community in action, click here.

In that same way - we want to be here for you! As your Director of Alum Engagement, please know, I am always available by phone or email (I'm pictured in my home office with new "co-worker" Coco). Feel welcome to reach out if you are struggling with anything and I will facilitate ASH support for you as we are able.

To offer support and sharing, we have created a virtual prayer board for ASH alums and parents of alums, so we may continue to support each other as a prayerful community. You are welcome to click here to add prayer intentions to our Academy of the Sacred Heart Alum and Parent of Alum Prayer Board. You may also respond with your prayer intention and I will add it to the board for you. Please include the intentions on this prayer board in your daily prayer.

Our important work in our community does not end when our building is closed. Our wonderful teachers are working harder than ever to keep their students growing. Our staff are working to keep operations running smoothly and to keep our building and beautiful campus safe and secure. Our Administrators are challenged to support and inspire with their leadership through these uncharted waters, taking guidance from our pioneering foundress St. Rose Philippine Duchesne. We will grow through this time and look forward to a joyful return to normal.

We are holding you close in prayer, through the intercessions of Saint Madeleine Sophie and Saint Rose Philippine. Sacred Heart of Jesus, we place our trust in you.

With love,

Carolynn Kinzey Krause '88
