As soon as students can handle reading paragraphs, we use a variety of short novels to develop interpretation and communication skills. We start with TPR (Total Physical Response) books, a series by Blaine Ray Workshops. We continue reading at different levels using the CIDEB Collection, books with CD. Over the past years, students have read the school version of the Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, Carmen, etc. In the upper levels, 4-5, we use the authentic excerpts from francopone articles in the news or literature such as LE PETIT PRINCE et OSCAR ET LA DAME ROSE.
