Greetings Alumnae and Alumni!
On February 4, members of our Sacred Heart family served the community off-campus at two Gleaners locations, an animal shelter in Hazel Park, and by preparing a meal and organizing a Valentine’s party at Holy Trinity in Detroit. On-campus activities included making bird feeders, writing letters to soldiers and knitting blankets and other items for Warming Up America. Thank you to all who volunteered or donated items and made our 11th Annual Community in Action Day a success. We are grateful to Alumnae Board member Kate Karpinski ’04 for organizing this year’s event!
Each year, the Alumnae and Alumni Association presents the Wansboro Award to a member of the Sacred Heart family living his or her life with confidence in the Heart of Jesus. The nominee reflects this confidence through active involvement in his or her home, community, church and school. The Wansboro Award will be presented at the Alumnae and Alumni Reunion on May 19. Please forward your nomination to school, to the attention of Carolyn Lindeman Price’60, Alumnae/Alumni Director on or before March 10.
Please consider involvement in another of our Spring traditions by writing a Prize Day Letter that will be given on Prize Day to a girl in the Senior Class or a boy graduating from Kensington Hall. If you are willing to write one of these letters, please respond to Carolyn Lindeman Price’60 by April 1.
Finally, I’d like to remind you to donate to the Annual Fund. Alumnae and Alumni participation is crucial this year as we seek grants and continue funding projects and activities that made our own Sacred Heart experience so unique. You may donate to the Annual Fund through the mail or online at ashmi.org. Remember, you are able to earmark your donation for scholarships for children of alumnae by donating to the Heart to Heart Fund.
