Congratulations to Kendall Lehmann'14and Amanda Petzold'15, who were named to the second team, all-state for the fall field hockey season, and to Bailey Seklar'15, who was named an all-state honorable mention (pictured). Angela Cavanagh'14, Raquel George'14, Kendall Lehmann and JacquelineZielinski'14 were named to the all-state academic team. Well done!

ASH Community Donates More Than 80 Thanksgiving Baskets

A big thank you to all the students, families and faculty/staff who participated in the collection of canned and non-perishable items for Lighthouse of Oakland County. We provided 80 full Thanksgiving baskets, 20 partial baskets, 14 baskets of additional miscellaneous food items and $2,500 toward the purchase of turkeys for those in need.

The 11th Hour Theatre Company will perform "Steel Magnolias" on Friday and Saturday, November 22 and 23 at 7:30 p.m. Join us for this poignant comedy-drama set in Truvy's Beauty Salon in Louisiana. Tickets may be purchased at the door for $10.
Ayomide Osobamiro'14 and Marissa Ray'13 have been recognized as Advanced Placement Scholars for their performance on AP Exams in 2013. Each earned an average grade of 3 or higher on each of the three AP exams she took. Congratulations!
Faces of Sacred Heart Portrait Project

Inspired and guided by the Goals and Criteria, the art department facilitated an all-school portrait exhibit. This installation was a year in the planning. ASH Hires Atif Lodhi as Admissions Director

ASH has announced that Atif Lodhi of Sterling Heights has been hired as Admissions Director. Lodhi steps into a role previously held by Barbara Lopiccolo’62, who served as Admissions Director for 26 years. Lopiccolo will assist in the transition and support the school’s admissions efforts for the remainder of the school year. Read more >>

October 20 is the Feast of Mater Admirabilis, a celebration of the Blessed Mother that takes place in Sacred Heart schools around the world. On Monday, October 21, ASH students will attend a liturgy at 9:30 a.m. and are invited to wear pink. Explore Autumn During Playtime at the Heart

Families with children from infancy through Kindergarten age are invited to explore the sights and sounds of autumn on Sunday, October 20 from 10-11:30 a.m. Playtime at the Heart will include a variety of teacher-led, parent-child activities, including hunting for pumpkins, listening to stories in the woods and experimenting with musical instruments. Fourth Annual Heart of Oak 5K is September 8

On Sunday, September 8 at 10 a.m., the Academy of the Sacred Heart’s athletic booster club will sponsor the Heart of Oak IV Vicki Oakley Memorial 5K Run, 5K Family Fun Walk and Kids Run. Proceeds will support the Gail Purtan Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Academy’s athletic programs in memory of coach and educator Vicki Oakley. ASH Varsity Tennis Team Wins Second State Championship!

On Saturday, June 1, the team won its second Division 4 state title. Read more from the Birmingham Eccentric. Kelsey Nagle'13, Emily Nash'13, Sarah Spangler'14 and Heidi Lemon'13 were named to the All State Division 4 First Team, with Tyler Papazian'13 recognized on the Honorable Mention Team. Nagle and Nash were also named to The Oakland Press' All County Second Team, with eight teammates receiving honorable mentions. Congratulations to all on an excellent season.

Hehs, Denny '08 to be Honored by the Catholic League

ASH is honored to announce that Associate Head of School Judith Hehs has been selected as the Catholic High School League's 2013 Person of the Year, the highest honor the Catholic League bestows on an individual. She will receive the award at the Hall of Fame Banquet on Monday, June 10. At that time, Rachel Denny '08 will be recognized as one of the Catholic League Athletes of the Year. 2013 Valedictorian, Salutatorian Named

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is proud to recognize Marissa Ray as the valedictorian of the Class of 2013, and Elle DelGrosso as the salutatorian. The valedictory address will be given during the commencement exercises on June 13, with the salutatorian's address presented at Prize Day that morning.
