NHS Students Support Education in Uganda

The 19 students in the Upper School's National Honor Society are raising funds and awareness for Sacred Heart schools in Uganda. Read about how their efforts are impacting their fellow children of the Sacred Heart, and learn how you can support the Society of the Sacred Heart's Ugandan communities in the January 23 eNews.
Local students in Grades 3-6 are invited to attend a Sports Night on Friday, January 30 from 6-8:30 p.m. The event includes flag football, floor hockey, dodgeball, basketball and a pizza dinner. There is a $10 fee to participate. Register here, or view the press release for more details.

ASH Community Donates More Than 80 Thanksgiving Baskets

Many thanks to all the students, families and faculty/staff who participated in the collection of canned and non-perishable items for Lighthouse of Oakland County. We provided 81 full Thanksgiving baskets and $2,500 toward the purchase of turkeys for families and neighbors in need.

During the Catholic High School League/Catholic Youth Organization Prep Bowl on October 25, several students were honored as Academic All-Stars: Stella Betrus'17, Tara Cuckovich'16, Lauren Dumas'15, Sydney Falle'17, Sarah Panone'15, Amanda Petzold'15 and Sarah Sitto'16. Faculty members were recognized for their service to Catholic schools: Lisa Cuckovich (20 years), Stephanie Hamilton (15 years) and Susan Volk (10 years).
Varsity Field Hockey Captures CHSL Championship!

On Saturday, October 11, the Upper School field hockey team captured the Catholic High School League tournament championship, scoring an overtime win against Marian. The winning goal came from Bailey Seklar'15, who was also named "All League" with classmate Lydia Farina. Juniors Molly Lynch and Gretchen Lemon were named "All Catholic", and Sarah Panone'15 was named "All Academic." Congratulations!

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is proud to recognize Rosemary O'Brien as the valedictorian of the Class of 2014, and Kalen Cobb as the salutatorian. The valedictory address will be given during the commencement exercises on June 12, with the salutatorian's address presented at Prize Day that morning.
