Current Openings

Early Childhood Program Lead Afternoon Teachers

The Academy of the Sacred Heart has two part-time (75%) openings for lead afternoon teachers in its year-round infant (six weeks to 1 year) and toddler (12-24 months) programs. 

The successful candidate must be a certified teacher with a ZA endorsement, and must take the archdiocesan-mandated Protecting God’s Children class within one month of being hired.

Upper School Biology Teacher

The Academy of the Sacred Heart, Bloomfield Hills, is seeking a certified biology teacher for its all-girls Upper School. Applicants must have an advanced degree in biology or a related field, be able to relate well to young women, and to be willing to participate fully in the life of the Upper School, which includes acting as a mentor to a group of students, leading weekly community service outreach, and traveling as part of the “Project Term" experiences. Opportunities to coach or teach in the enrichment program exist.

The successful candidate must complete the archdiocesan-mandated program “Protecting God’s Children” within one month of being hired.

Director of Advancement

The Director of Advancement leads and manages all areas of institutional advancement including annual fund, alumni, parent, and grandparent relations, special events, donor relations, legacy society, planned giving, major gifts, corporate and foundation relations, communications, public relations and marketing as well as collaborating closely with the admission office. The Director is part of the senior administrative team, reports directly to the Head of School, and works with the relevant trustee committees in support of the school's fundraising priorities and strategic plan. The Director of Advancement is charged with overall coordination of Advancement volunteer program.

Qualifications:

  • Upholds the Mission and Goals and Criteria of the Academy of the Sacred Heart
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, at least five years of experience
  • Proven ability to cultivate donors and to ask for donations from a variety of constituents
  • Available to attend school-centered activities and fundraising events

Part-Time Technology Teacher and Technology Coach

The Academy of the Sacred Heart is seeking a part-time technology teacher and coach to work with children (ages 4-14) and adults. Candidates must be certified teachers with experience integrating technology successfully into classroom activities. Experience designing and delivering professional development for peers at the building and/or district level preferred. The successful candidate must complete the archdiocesan-mandated course Protecting God’s Children within one month of being hired.
