Enrichment Program
The Academy of the Sacred Heart's Enrichment Program offers quality before- and after-school programming delivered by certified instructors. ASH offers classes and social opportunities to extend a child's day, from learning creative arts to sports activities to receiving homework assistance. Group offerings in the Enrichment Program include classes in dance, from ballet to tap; arts and crafts; chess; cooking; knitting; cartooning; and much more.
The Early Risers/Late Shiners Program is available to all students in the Early Childhood Program, Primary School, Lower School, Middle School for Girls and Kensington Hall who need a daily program before and/or after school. This program is open on all scheduled school days from 7 a.m. to school start time and after school dismissal until 6 p.m. To meet the child care needs of working parents when school is not in session, special "Play Days" are also offered from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Physical activity is key to fighting childhood obesity and enhancing mental stability. There are many after-school options: Gym Rats class, basketball, volleyball, floor hockey and many other sports. The Great Outdoors allows children to explore Michigan's many seasons. Children can learn karate, too!
Students can join the Homework Club whether they need daily assistance, occasional help or just a quiet place to do homework. ASH offers additional reading comprehension and vocabulary with a twist through its Girls and Boys Rule Book Clubs. Academic tutoring is also available for children in Pre-K through Grade 12.
